"Un-Masked" |About the CD | Song list | Production

Welcome to the unmasking of Masquerade, The East Coast’s premiere travelling performance troupe. Dedicated to providing a fully choregraphed and costumed showcase for any event. This recording highlights Masquerades’ diverse repertoire, encompassing Broadway Classics, Rock Opera, Jazz Revivals, Pop and more.

We start with a very optimistic song, “YES”(1) from 70 Girls 70. Continuing in the optimistic mode, from Guys&Dolls, Sky Materson hopes for one more great role of the dice in “Luck Be a Lady”(2). We resurrect the lyrics from Benny Goodman's Big Band hit, which allows us to do what the songwriter intended -“Sing Sing Sing”(3). At the opening event at the Fleet Center, Boston’s largest sport entertainment venue we performed “Something to point to”(4) from Working. The world of Rock Opera brings us “Pinball Wizard”(5) from The Who’s Tommy. “Willamania”(6) tells us about the popularity of an American folk hero upon which is based The Will Roger’s Follies. The next two selections are traditionally performed by soloists, the title song from “Cabaret”(7) and from Aspects of Love, “Love Changes everything”(8). Les Miserables brings us the cast professing how their lives will be altered in only “One Day More”(9). The prisoner Molina creates the fantasy character Aurora. She explains to him how to escape in “ Where You Are”(10) from Kiss of The Spiderwoman. How To Succeed In Business...’s “Brotherhood of Man”(11) unites all men and women in a common bond. From Kiss of The Spiderwoman, the other prisoner Valentine explains his revolutionary lifestyle in “The Day After That”(12). “Blow Gabriel Blow”(13) has Reno from Anything Goes trying to get the cast to repent. “Simon Zealots”(14) has the crowd show Jesus the power over the people that he now holds in Jesus Christ Superstar. We close this recording with the Beatles’ “We Can WORK It Out”(15).Thanks to everyone involved in this project for their help and support.
